Continuing on the lighter side!!!!
I was wondering. I have lost a total of 42lbs. My surgery date was Jan. 29th. I have not lost any weight since my follow up about 2weeks ago. I do not know what I am doing. I think it is a combination of not eating and drinking enough, Is what my nutrionist stated. But, I do not want to slow my weight loss down. Is it true we can reach plataeus on and off. Does anyone just loss weight and keep losing until their body stops?
Is there anyone who started at my weight that lost continually?
Thanks kim

This is funny because I see tons of posts just like yours at about your number of weeks out. I had the exact same problem, and still am. At my support group I told everyone I was 7 weeks out and they automatically said, "Oh you're plataeuing huh??" It made me feel a lot better to know that a lot of people go through the same thing at about this stage. My plataeu started about 3 weeks ago, but to date I've lost 50lbs so I guess I'm not too worried. I've started exercising everyday now, so hopefully that will kick my weight loss back into high gear. Try not to get too discouraged, the weight loss will pick back up! Good luck!

Congratulations on your 50lbs weight loss. It is encouraging to see that others have gone through the same thing. Its just that part of me thinks in the back of my mind. That I had the surgery, and somehow it will be different for me. I can not phathom losing that much weight. I have not started a serious exercise program as of yet. So, hopefully, that will be the next goal on my list. Thanks for encouragement.

Oh yes.. you can plateau at any time.. I finally stepped on the scale after two weeks of absolutely no movement on the scale and saw that I lost 5 lbs. I am not sure what I did differently- but it broke finally. I had my surgery on 01/27/04 and met with my doctor on 02/27/04. I am now six weeks out and down 35 lbs. According to my doctor, this is a pretty good progession of weight loss. He also said that once your body reaches "goal" or "healthy" weight, your weight loss will slow down significantly... So you are well on your way and doing good!!!
