As of yesterday I am 7 weeks out, and I've lost 42 pounds. I'm in Ohio and it's just now getting warm enough to get out and walk. When I do walk, I do 2 miles with no problem. I stay away from bread and sweets. The only carbs I have are in my cheese, or sugar-free yogurt. I my water in most days, and I don't do the shakes so I try to get my protein in. I have been working out with my friend Jeremy, and I am so feeling it. I am so sore right now, but it feels really good. I've been having this pain in my upper right side when I lift or bend over. I called the doctor and she told me to stop lifting very much and try not to twist and turn alot until I come in. I'm so motivated to get this weight loss going, I'm so upset I have to stop, b/c I feel so good and ready. I don't even know it this is good weight loss for now, and I'm scared I'm doing something wrong! Any advice, I think I'm having one of those really down days

Congratulations on your weight loss!! I am also 7 weeks out and have only lost 25 pounds. I am losing inches, I can tell but it does get discouraging, so 42 pounds is AWESOME!!!. I am not sure if you had open RNY or not but for a while I had a pain in my right side half way between my incision and my side. My Dr told me he had put a couple of extra stitches in there and that they could get pulled and feel irritated if I did too much. the pain went away and now I am fine. Keep up the good work!! Lisa

Mandy, I understand your desire to get going with your exercise. But after major surgery, your insides need time to heal and scar. If you are having pain, you are probably doing something your body is not ready for you to do. So you need to stop what is causing your pain. No lifting or bending or twisting. Wait a few weeks and try it again. And your weight loss is FANTASTIC. I am in my 7th week and have lost 33 lbs. I have been on a plateau for a week now. Hope it picks up soon. And I have started to Curves, so hopefully that will help. Keep up the good work but always follow your surgeon's advice. Only they know what they did in your tummy.

Hi Mandy, Where is Seamen, Ohio? I live in Payne, Ohio and it's in the northwestern corner next to Ft. Wayne, In. or maybe you've heard of Van Wert, Ohio. Anyway, I'm looking for a new doctor and a female would be great!!!! She sounds caring. Where is she? Please let me know as soon as you can as I am in need of some serious follow up! lol! Thanks, ~michelle
