Ok everyone I need help, I had surgery Jan 13- I have only lost 23 pounds. I have started walking 2 miles a day. I went through an episode last week of vomiting everytime I ate foods. I could drink liquid but no foods. I learned the hard way that I was probably eating too fast. Anyway, I havn't lost any weight over this. My pouch feels sore and I hear lots of noise. I feel ok otherwise. I am taking my vitamins. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I alone? I know everyone loses at a different rate but if last week I barely consumed anything how can my body not lose weight? I am lost Help? Lisa

Lisa, You need to eat. If you don't your body will go into starvation mode and store every morsel you consume. It sounds strange, but you need to eat and keep your body healthy to lose weight. Talk to your dietician in your program.

Lisa, Don't be too discouraged. I am 7 weeks out and I have lost 30 pounds. So trust me I know what slow is, but it is OK. At week 5 and 6 I did not loose ANYTHING! It was very frustrating. It will come off! Slower is better anyway! Good Luck !

Lisa, Hi, I'm sorry you are having problems, What types of food have you tryed that are making you sick? Have you tryed just to take one or two bites a few times a day? Just to get some food in you? Kristin

Hi Lisa, I have read that dairy products in your diet actually speeds up weight loss. I eat low carbohydrate yogurt, cottage cheese, regular cheese, and drink Atkins milk by Hood. Are you watching the Sugar grams of the things you try to eat? Anything over 10 grams makes me nauseous for an hour or two. Good luck, I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hi Lisa, My surgery date was 1-27, and I have only lost 25 lbs. I believe since we all vary so much as to how much we have to loose in the first place, that will definately make a difference as to how much we loose. Some of us start out at 250, and others at 400. Doesn't that make sense? It will come off in time, and I believe slower is better! Maybe our hair won't fall out! lol. Take care, Lark Johnson

I have found that you must eat inorder to loose. I read in an article called pouch rules for Dummies posted on 2/10/04 ,that eating stimulates weightloss and that keeping you pouch full is that best way to loose. I was so impressed by this post that I printed it and read it regulary, You may be able to access this post by going back to that date.

Hi Lisa. I'm 5 wk post- op. I've only lost 27 pounds in my first week. I have not lost anymore since then. It's very frustrating. I have'nt vomited to much. My eating has gone so, so okay. Your insides will hurt for a long time. A friend of mine is 5 months post-op and told me her insides finally stopped hurting after 4 months. The noise's you hear is only air bubbles. It's very normal. I hope this helped. Holly
