Wow 56 lbs thats GREAT! I had Lap RNY 1/20/04 I am down about 25 lbs .
I feel pretty good, I was back to work the 2nd week after surgery. I try to concentrate on my proteins first, I eat eggs, cheese, ground turkey, chicken, tuna since I don't eat red meats.(personal choice 9 yrs ago. I eat broccoli, carrots basically anything as long as I chew, chew, chew. I don't eat sweets nor do I miss them at this point. I hope it lasts . My goal is to shred my Lane Bryant card once and for all. I have never been able to shop anywhere else in all my adult life.
Keep up the Great Work

At times I miss the sweets, I did have a small cookie the other day, It really didn't taste good. I love your goal! I'm right along with you! I shop at Catherines plus size right now. Keep up the great job you are doing!!

Hi. I am down 22 pounds on my scales. I did the happy dance last week when I got below 200. I have not dumped yet. Having problems with constipation. I am supposed to be on pureed until this Thursday but have about given it up. I have found fish to be the best. Even when I am out and about I can order the breaded, take off the breading and chew well! I am dying for a SALAD! I have Spring Fever as the temp got almost 50 this week. I want to go to a beach this summer and WEAR A BATHING SUIT WITHOUT A COVER UP!
Hello From Germany,
I had my Surgery on 1/21 and am a 36 lb loser. well that is what my scale says. it is in kilo's. last week the doctors said 26 lbs. I am doing okay. my day starts out with taking 2 chewable vitamines. 2 tums. and a cup of chocolate protine shake. ( i really dont want my hair to fall out so i press myself to drink it...it may take half and hour to drink. but it is in my system and i wont have to worry about my hair in 3 or 4 months) then a couple hours later i have half a bagel with cream cheese. then get my water in an hour later. then have a meat and potato dinner. i also found out that if i dont chew chew chew it gets stuck and comes back up..not fun at all. then i have a popcicle before bed. with my meds. it seems to be working. even though i am not getting my calories in. i should be taking in at least 1200 and i am no where close. im sure it will get better when im able to eat more. I gave myself 6weeks before starting my exersising so i dont hurt myself. and that is comeing up next week. hopefully my body will start getting the get up and go phase. with it in the healing stage all i want to do is sleep.
anyway it sounds like everyone is doing a wonderful job. I pray that all your ailments are starting to go away.
Take Care All and God Bless
Teri
Hi! You all are doing such a great job! I had open RNY on Jan/23. I have lost 34 pounds so far! I only ate pureed food for 1 week! I just couldn't do it! It was making me sick just looking at it! I just chewed, chewed, and chewed some more! I have gotten sick off a few things. KFC chicken. (I know it was stupid to even try) Anything greasy makes me sick. Like we ate BQ Ribs. I took it slow and did just fine. But the next day when I reheated them they made me sick! I need to slow down too! But besides that everyday is a learning experience!
Wow Kristin down 56 - that is awesome. I have melted away 38 pounds since 1/8 and I am feeling absolutely great. And all the comments from co-workers and friends is keeping me going strong.
I am weaning into stage 5 - the everyday for the rest of your life diet. Handling most foods unless to crunchy. I find the crunchy stuff really upsets my stomach.
I also can't wait for summer to go out and have some real outside fun with my 2 little kids.

Hi Kristin!
I had my surgery on 01/27/04 and I am down 31 lbs by my scale at home. I can tolerate just about anything- accept my favorite chicken and wild rice soup from our local casino. (Its too rich, i think). I can't tolerate breads yet- or should I say, I can't get it chewed enough. But I will try again eventually. I think I am doing pretty good- I am drinking 3 16.9 fl oz of water and one 16 oz of Crystal Light everyday, plus trying to get my protein in every meal. I just finished my lunch of 1/2 of a stuff manicotti- made with ricotta, mozzerella, and parmesean cheeses along with finely ground hamburger and Italian pork sausage, 1/2 large onion and mixed together with 2 eggs and some parsley flakes. Also topped with mounds of more mozzerella and parmesean cheeses... It was soo good. I can usually eat 3/4 of one- but I didn't want to over stuff myself here at work. I am taking 1 Jimmy Neutron multi-vitamin and 3 tums per day and 2 times per day I take one pill to help my gallbladder deal with rapid weight loss.
So trust me.. I am thinking warm thoughts as I live in MN and the high temp today is supposed to be around 38 or 40....
KRISTIN, YOU ARE DOING GREAT. I AM POST OP 1 MONTH TODAY AND LOST 35 LBS I FEEL GOOD AT TIMES BUT BORED BEING IN THE HOUSE ALL THE TIME. CANT WAIT TILL I GET BACK TO WORK IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM OF EATING TOO FAST AND WHEN I DO OR TRY TO EAT MORE THAN 3 BITES OF FOOD AT ONE TIME I SIP IT UP BUT ITS NOT TO BAD. SINCE I HAD THE OPEN SURGERY ON THE 27TH. I HAS BEEN A CHALLAGE WITH FOOD I WANT EVERYTHING AND CANT HAVE MUCH OF ANYTHING. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
