Exercises and no weight loss...
Hi everyone,
I have joined the gym. It feels good to back, have not been in almost 2 years. Been working with a trainer, and boy am I am sore.
Another thing, I have only lost 2 pounds in the last, almost 3 weeks. I am ready for the scale to start moving...I look at these older post on the main maesseage board about people losing 100-200 pounds. It makes my little 40-45lbs, not seem like much. I wonder if there is something I need to doing to help me lose more weight or if just one day it will start coming off again?
I look forward to hearing back from you all. Hope all of you are well and losing.

Hi Kristal!
Great job losing 45 lbs. I have lost 25 lbs. three weeks after surgery. I am attending Weigh****cher meetings with my mom and sister who are following the program. One of the things that they tell you when you start working out is that muscle weighs more than fat. It is not unusual when you don't see a weight loss when beginning working out. Sometimes you might even put on a pound. The benefits really are great though and you will start losing again. I am looking forward to acheiving your successful 45 lb. weight loss.
Keep up the great job!!!!!!!!
Lonnie
Hi Kristal!
My goodness - you are doing SO wonderfully! Don't compare yourself to others, since everyone's experience in their own body is different. I am so happy for your wonderful loss! That's terrific!
Please know that it is COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY NORMAL to go through multiple periods of being at a plateau, where weight just seems to stop losing alltogether. PLEASE never let this bother you, because it is totally normal (please check out the online library, under plateaus). This is just your body, redistributing and catching up with your spurts of weight loss. Not to worry, just follow your pouch rules, and the weight loss will start back up all on it's own! When I hit my first plateau, I was scared (it was almost a week long), but it went away as quickly as it came, and the weight began to disappear again.
Also, I highly admire you for going into your gym! That's so wonderful, and I truly congratulate you on your accomplishments!
P.S. - for only about a month, your weight loss is FAB-U-LUSS!!!
Kristal, I had my surgery on the same day as yours. I have lost 47lbs. I have not lost anything in the past week. So, I was worried that I was doing something wrong. Beating myself up and feeling like a failure. It is very hard to not compare to the other posts. I know that I am eating right and have been exercising regularly the past two weeks. I feel re-assured reading your post. It seems that we are both on track!! Thanks Susan
I don't think you've read about people losing 100-200 lbs in just over a month. Consider yourself lucky to have lost almost a lb a day.
I had surgery 1/20/04 and have only lost 29 lbs. We don't all lose at the same pace but when I start to get discouraged I try to remember I could never have done this well on a conventional diet. Added to that is the fact that I can no longer throw my hands up and say I give up and go back to eating.
In reading on the board it doesn't seem unusual between 2-4 weeks for people to stop losing. The concensus seems to be that the body is reacting to the trama of surgery. It does start up again so relax.
It's hard to be patient but unfortunately this is not a one day process so maybe it's time we learned to be patient and wait for the good things to happen.
Good luck!
