Hi, my name is Lonnie. I had lap-band surgery three weeks ago. I am having a problem with extremely loose bowel movements. One morning, I awoke to find that I had had a bought of diaherra while I slept. I contacted the doctor and he told me to take over the counter medication for it. This helped but I find that I still have a problem and don't want to take medication every day. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you deal with it?
I had very similar problems. I'm 5 weeks out now and I still have a slight problem with it. My doctor put me on a flagel and it worked while I was on it but as soon as it was over I started to get diarrhea again. Then they just told me to take imodium and that's what I did for a long time. It did help and some days were much worse than others, but for the most part I don't have too much of a problem with it. I know it's hard, I was just praying it would end. If it doesn't get any better with the over the counter medication I would call the surgeon again. Good luck and I hope you feel better!

I had my surgery and matter of fact I have had diaherra all day today. My first 3 weeks after surgery that was the only way I had bowel movements!!! I have to travel 7 miles to get to school and there are time I almost didn't make it because it hit me when I get on the highway. About 4 weeks I had solid bms but today I don't know what happened
