I am 4 weeks post op and have lost 25 lbs. However, I have noticed that going into this 5th week, I actually have feelings of hunger close to mealtime and sometimes inbetween. I have not had that the first 4 weeks. I just ate because it was time to eat and I knew I needed to keep the protein intake up. Is this normal?

Meleta, I had my surgery on 1/7/04 and I know what you mean, but for me I don't feel hunger I feel empty. Strange, but that is how I feel. You are doing really great on your weight loss!! Kristin

Kristin, you are right. It is more an empty feeling than a feeling of hunger. And I can just hear the gas rolling through there, even if I drink water. Some people tell me they have to eat every 2 hours but my surgeon said just eat 3 meals a day and if you need something in between, drink water or make sure it is calorie free, like jello or pudding. I just don't want to get into the habit of eating around the clock. Thanks for your input.
