Will too full feeling past or do I need to throw up?
I am 2 wks out and started on soft foods yesterday. Tonight I had broiled fi**** squash and 2T green beans. I was so hungry for the veggies that I ate those first (probably too fast) and then was only able to eat maybe 2oz of fish. Now I feel like the food is at the top of my throat. Will it go down on it's own or do I need to throw up to get rid of this feeling. It is so hard to learn to eat slow. I was using a baby spoon so I thing I was taking small bits and chewing. Thanks, Pat
Eat your proteins 1st - you need to make sure that you always get those in. Was you food really soft and chew chew chew.
You must eat slow. I usually get sick if I eat too fast or too much.
For my diet I am not allowed veggies until 8 weeks out - I'm jealous. And my meals only consist of max 3 oz. per meal. Been doing pretty good though.
Best of luck,

Pat, eating too fast is probably one of the hardest things we are going to have to learn to do. Being a nurse, I am so used to shuveling food in on the run. And you should eat your protein first. Then if you still have room, have the veggies. Try not to throw up. Just sit and try to relax. I find that if I take a sip of water, and I know everyone tells you not to drink with your meals, it helps the pressure to go away quicker. Good luck and keep up the good work.
My food plan for weeks 2-6 calls for 2 oz of fish, shrimp with nothing else. You probably over ate a bit. My doctor does not add vegetables until week 7 because the pouch is too small to hold the protein and veggies.
I will admit I ate some squash one time because I just had to have them but I only ate about 1 oz of fish with the squash.
