Hi everyone, i am 3 weeks post op and i have this strange feeling in my throat. I get this feeling like something is stuck in it. I burp alot and i was wondering could it be from gas or is something not right. i talked to my doctor and he said it happens to people. I wanted to know if anyone else had this and when did it stop? thanks michelle

It just started for me 2 days ago. I am 18 days post-op. I think the honeymoon period is over. 1st time I dumped too. I dumped on H2O last nite. I know I had this awful feeling in my throat, the burping, breathing fast & furious. Then I gagged a couple times, only water. Finally subsided in about 15 minutes. The look on my husbands face was fear. I am going to eat slow and sip slower today too. I hope it passes soon. Elissa

Michelle, I felt like there was a string or hair at the back of my tongue around week 2-3. I decided to try cutting back on foods and just drink fluids all day. I took my vitamins, etc., but just consumed liquids, mostly water. With nothing else, I could drink 60oz of H2O a day. It made that thing go away in the back of my throat and I haven't had it since. I'm so glad because it was driving me crazy. How is everything else going? Catherine

Michelle, I'm 3 weeks post op and if I start eating too fast, I will usually bring what I ate up, plus a lot of saliva, my doctor told me that this was very normal and to expect it, especially eating harder foods like chicken. I don't know why I burp a lot when it happens, I think it must be some type of bulit in mechanism in our bodies that is saying, your choking me?? This usually happens only when I first begin to eat. I'm assuming it is not going to stop until we all learn the fine art of chew chew chew, of which I don't quite have that technique down yet. good luck rebecca P
