I just wanted to say hello! I am 12 days Post-Op. I had lap RNY on 1-29-04. I have lost 14 pounds as of this morning. I have one question, I have read on here about people pureeing their food. If you chew it well enough isn't that pureed? Suzzette

It is supposed to be but remember that sometimes what we think we chew well is really not and it hurts coming back up. Good luck Lisa

I guess technically it would be. But since the post op instructions were pureed, I threw my stuff in the blender. Not that appetizing to look at, but pretty tasty. I think maybe the reasoning in that is so we don't get distracted and swallow something that wasn't the consistency of applesauce before the pouch is healed some. Today I can start "regular" food, but due to cir****tances beyond my control, have only had soft food. Best wishes to everyone.

I really don't puree food I just make sure its really moist. And chew chew chew !!!!!! If you happen to eat a big bite your pouch will let you know right away. My favorites are seafood and canned tuna & chicken so far. Good Luck, Dawn -34

well I am pureeing mine and I am just about SICK of it. LOL I really want something to bite. I am still having some pain and swelling so I am pretty much homebound which isn't helping. Guess I am gonna get the 3 week blues now. I have lost 15 pounds but I can't really tell it due to the swelling. It is going down because I can touch the ground now. :0 I will be soooo happy when I can "see" something from all this mush.
