Hi How is everyone doing? Any problems with foods? I tryed bacon last night thought I was going to but I didn't. Is anyone having problems with hair loss yet? Mine seems to be ok. Please let us know how you are doing Kristin 1/7/04 revision to RNY

Hi Kristin, Doing good here. Today is my last day of pureed food. I go to regular food tomorrow. So far haven't had any problems. No hair loss yet for me either. I got 8 inches cut off a couple weeks ago just incase. I have a week and a half before I have to head back to work. Am enjoying the time off.

Kay, I'm happy to hear things are going good!! It will be nice to go back to regular food! That was a good idea to get some cut off before surgery. I have always had such thick hair I could stand to loose some. It's funny I use to have very natural curly hair and then I had 3 kids in a row and now it's not very curly anymore. See what kids can do to you!! Take it easy and enjoy what time you have left off! Kristin time to drink more of my diet ice tea

Hi, I can only eat a few foods. I'm two weeks out, had surgery on the 26th. I still have problems eating though. No hair loss yet. Linda

Hi Linda I sure can understand the problems with food. Tonight I tryed ham, thought I was going but I didn't. If I don't chew is when I don't feel very well, but it does pass. I also tryed some diet dr pepper tonight that was a BIG It made me burp right away and I didn't like the feeling so I think I'll stick with water and that nasty ice tea. Home made tea is the best that I have found. I use splenda and extra lemon. Good luck to you!! Kristin

Hi there! While I am doing GREAT with food (not sick, able to tolerate most things that I have tried) - I am doing HORRIBLE at weight loss! I am soooo very disappointed! I don't know what to do! I'm going to ask my doctor when I go next week to have my g-tube out. I am getting in good amounts of protein (not 60 to 90 grams yet because I can't eat that much yet), only carbs have been in veggies and potatoes, I get in quite a bit of fluid (although plain water HURTS my pouch like crazy!) and walk at least a mile each day. All this - my surgery was on Jan 21. How much do you think I should have lost? 20? 30? lbs? Guess again TWELVE (12) pounds!!! I am just so discouraged - and I'm tired of hearing "that it will come off - be patient..." BUT - I will say that I'm gonna keep on keeping on. Just in case this tool of mine decides to kick in at any moment and WORK!!! It's nice to hear from each of you - we have a long road ahead and its good to know that we are all taking it together! Barbie, Sounds like you are doing everything you should be. You sound so much like me when I had my VBG back in 1999, I was walking eating right drinking right, and the first month I had only lost 23 pounds. I was sooo mad I had a high start weight so I thought I should loose like 40 pounds the first month sice other people my size were. You are so positive just keep up the good work it's going to pay off, no matter how fast or how slow you loose!! We are all LOOSERS!! Kristin

Hi Kristin, Thanks for asking I am doing great. My surgery was 1/8 and down 34 pounds today. No foods have really bothered me unless they are krisp. I am still on the soft food diet until next week. I can't wait to try to chew something solid. I have never wanted a veggie soooo bad. My hair is still sticking around, I have heard it usually happens around 3 months out. Good luck to you. Dawn

Hi Kristin, What do you think was the reason the ham did not agree with you? I bought a ham thinking it would be a nice moist meat. Now I'm not sure. What other kinds of meats is everyone eating? I did have some tuna today which seems to be going okay. Hope eveyone continues to do well.

Kay How are you??? As for the ham , I guess I need to chew it more, I'm lazy and always in a hurry!! Maybe I better make some ham salad !! That might go down better. I doing chicken, it's goes down ok once again if I chew it. I have tryed ground beef just a little. I'm not a tuna fan Kay, wish I could eat it. Good luck to you!! Kristin
