I had surgery on Jan. 12th. I began to have my legs swell and get hot and tender around small vein at the top of skin. I got checked out and there is no blood clots! I was wondering how long you have this trouble, or is this something that I will have trouble from now on. I am tired of staying in ! If you have this or about it, please let me know. Thanks, Wanda

My procedure was 1/20/04 but thankfully I have not experienced any problems. Hope you are up and around soon.

I have never had vericose vains before, but I noticed one after the surgery. I just keep my support socks on that they gave me at the hospital and walk, walk, walk. I had my surgery on the 6th and have had post-op problems so my walking isn't as up to speed as the rest of my group - but I can do about a mile a day now. My best suggestion for you is to keep those socks on (or request them if you don't have them) and walk, walk, walk. You'll feel better.

You may have gotten the swelling just due to the surgery. I suggest walk it off. Even if it is only to the couch-toilet-bed. Get up as often as you can to keep the circulation going. Good luck.
