DEAR JUDY, I WAS SO PLEASED TO READ HOW WELL U R DOING POST-OP. I AM HAVING A SLEEP STUDY TOMORROW NIGHT AND THAT IS MY LAST TEST BEFORE APPLYING FOR INS. APPROVAL NEXT WEEK.I HOPE TO HAVE RNY SURGERY IN MID-FEB. IN NYC. I HAVE TO DIET TO SHRINK MY LIVER B4 THE SURGERY DATE. I HAVE LOST 10 LBS. SINCE MEETING WITH MY SURGEON ON 01/05/04. A FRIEND I MET IN HIS OFFICE THEN JUST HAD HER SURGERY LAST WEEK! I NEED TO LOSE SOME MORE WEIGHT B4 THE SURGERY DATE SO HE WILL BE ABLE TO DO THE LAPARASCOPIC RNY PROCEDURE, AND NOT THE 2-PART SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY PROCEDURE THAT HE HAS SUGGESTED. I CANT SEE GOING THROUGH 2 SURGERIES, 6 MONTHS APART. I HAVE TROUBLE WALKING SOMETIMES ALSO, DUE TO SEVERAL FALLS INJURING MY KNEES, PLUS CARRYING MY EXTRA WEIGHT. LIKE U, I STARTED AT 382 AT THE DR'S SCALE. I HOPE U CONTINUE TO FEEL BETTER AND LIGHTER EACH DAY. JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND TELL U THAT U ENCOURAGED ME! TERESA, IN NYC.
