Still fill very full after many hours?
HEy all,
I just started my pureed diet. I tried some chicken and chewed it very well, like I am suppose to do. I ate the chicken, about 2 oz. with some apple sauce. It has been about 10 hours and I feel just as full as I did right after I ate it. Has anyone else had this before? FYI...I am 2 weeks post op, saw the doc today, and he is the one that progressed me to pureed. I have not even been able to drink water. I am so full, please help!!
I have to agree...call your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry. I have only been a couple days on pureed diet and have tried to be so careful..but I had some roast beef (pureed of course)and felt overly full for about an hour or so...even a touch of nausea, but the whole episode lasted 2 hours max and then I felt fine. We are still trying to "read" what our pouches are telling us..but since it has been such a long time for you..you probably should give your doc a call.
Hope you feel better soon!!
Hugs,
Harriet
I am two weeks post op also and on puree. At this point it is very had to tell when your full. You new stomach is learning the ropes and your brain will catch up. for the first week I was hungry all the time and my stomach was always growling. Now I don't even wake up hungry and I have to make myself eat. It's just part of the learning process. Also, I can't drink just plain water anymore...It's got to have som flavor so I drinK Crystal light Tea or Fruit 2-0
I started pureed food last Thursday. Over the last week I have learned to tell when I am full. It happens quicker if I eat more protein and isn't the same every time. For instance, today I had tuna with ranch dressing (hate mayo) for lunch. Ate tiny bites over 30 min and could only finish an ounce. However, about 4:30, I could feel my stomach was empty again and was able to eat another oounce of tuna and 2 oz of cottage cheese. Then i was full again. Typically I will one more time, around 7:30 or so and just something really lite, like 2 oz apple sauce or yogurt, then wait about 20 min for the to digest and off to bed. In the past week I have over eaten, eaten too fast or not chewed well. All those experiences have been bad. I am slowly trying to get better, but I really have to pay attention...no more computer while I am eating. Good luck
