Hi Everybody!! I had my surgery on Jan12,2004. On my first appointment I lost 15 lbs. I just weighed in today and lost 4 more lbs. I am happy with that. I am however having problems keeping foods down. The first week and 1/2 went fine with just liquids. I try drinking juice, and can't seem to keep that down either. Any suggestions on what stays down easy? Thanks LadyJ

You may be having a problem with the sugar in the juice. I would stick with foods like broth, unsweetened Jello, yogurt, and cottage cheese. Also your protein shake of course. Call your doctor if it doesn't improve.

Hi there I discovered watermelon. I had my surgery on 1/5/04. If you take a piece and let it "melt in your mouth" it is FABULOUS!! Good Luck! Carolyn

Hi, I had my surgry on Jan. 13 and am now on soft foods. Cream soups have been my best friend - especially since it is so cold. I mix them with skim milk and a couple of teaspoons of powdered milk for the extra protein. I am also drinking a glass of skim milk each day. Thankfully I did not come out of this surgery lactose intollerent. I have also been having some lowfat yogurt or lowfat cottage cheese. Be careful with the yogurts some of them have a ton of sugar in them. We must read the labels. The only juice that I have tried has been watered down. I drink more plain water or crystal light. Good luck to you!!
