Hi, everyone....this is my first post here! I'm just starting my second post-op week, and though I'm feeling well physicially, I'm really struggling some of these days with wanting to just CHEW something!!??? Anyone with me on this? Not even anything BAD - a tuna sandwich is just fine, thanks! I went to the Bariatric Treatment Center in Ypsilanti MI (had a lap RNY), so I'm following their diet plan, which entails full liquids this week and next. I just never anticipated feeling so deprived... any tips? Jen

My boyfriend made some microwave popcorn and the smell of it nearly drove me mad. I finally sucked on one kernal til all of it was gone but the hard husk of the seed. My surgery was on 1/12 and I was cleared to start soft foods on 1/22. I'm surprised you're still on liquids into the third week. Look at the return of your appetite as a sighn that your body is healing.

Jennifer... I had the same problem. I finally chewed a few bites of a cracker with my soup. I HAD to chew something. It helped so much. I don't know if you can get away with that. Some people dump on such things. And I wouldn't recommend it as a every meal time thing.. but it worked for me. ~ Jan post op 1/16 - 22 lbs
