Hi there, I am 3 days post-op and find it EXTREMELY difficult to get comfortable in any position! I have two drains in (JP drain and G tube) and all the staples for Lap RNY. I really would like a good night's sleep . If you can recommend anything - you will be my angel!!! PS - the recliner works, but only for so long... Barbie

Barbie, It's hard to get cozy when your first post opt. Guess that is the bad news!! I think the 3rd day is the WORST! And the drain's are a PAIN in the *&*&^ But good NEWS It's going to get better VERY SOON!! I could NOT sleep well for the first few nights. I had the RNY open. I made myself get into bed and slept on about 5 pillows. Did they give you anything for pain? Are you taking it? Try to move around as much as you can I know I got very stiff. If your back hurts I would use some ben gay. It WILL get better as the days go by. I WISH I had a cure for you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing when you feel up to it. Kristin

HI Barbie I slept in a recliner for the first few nights. It really helped. Then, when I ventured back into my bed, I slept with a splint--a towel folded and taped up, under my stomach and I slept on my side. This really helped take any pressure off my stomach. Hope this helps!! Carolyn
