New to the game 1/19/04.
Hello everyone. I am new here and I am wonderig if anyone has any recipes or ideas for the pureed diet? I start my diet on 1/24/04. I am very nervous and very excited at the same time. Having been almost seven days on liquids. Please let me know if you have any ideas help ful hints etc. Since my pre op visit until now (12/16/03) was pre op. I have lost 11 pounds!!
Congratulations
You gotta love that meltin feeling
As for pureed, I really haven't yet myself. Just trying to handle the soft foods before I get to meat. Yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs.
My only suggestion is to try everything slow and easy. When I get any good recipes I will be sure to post.

I'm still on liquids until 2/3. I start pureed then. I posted the same questions on my state board. Hopefully I will get some good ideas and will share them. I did buy some baby food fruit and some squash. I also made some vegetable soup so I can have the broth now and froze some so I can have it pureed later. I guess I bought some applesauce too. I don't care for yogurt so won't be eating that. Best wishes!
Hi...I'm 2 weeks post op and slowly starting soft/pureed. It sounds like most of the foods you're talking about aren't protein foods. What little room you have in your stomach needs to be receiving mostly protein now. Your doctor may have different guidelines but mine isn't allowing any fruit yet. Sorry you don't like yogurt--I find that 6 oz fruit flavored lite yogurt is a daily treat. I've also been taking just the meat and vegetables from Lean Cuisine meals and buzzing them in the food processor. I can eat about half at a time. Egg salad or deviled egg also good now.
I did come up with one recipe to share: 1 Tbs tomato soup concentrate, 1/3 cup SkimPlus milk, 1 slice of 2% cheese, 1 or 2 drops You can also add 1 or 2 drops Worcestershire sauce or a sprinkle of dill weed or other seasoing you like. Melt it all together in the microwave and stir to make a nice cheese soup= 8 grams protein.
