Does anyone know of a Dr. that removes the part of the stomach that remains after the new pouch is made. That might be the only way for me to get this much needed surgery.

Marcy, the people I heard talking about this were in the general chat room -- might be worth stopping in there and asking a few questions. I believe there were people from Florida and Georgia talking about it. But maybe Maryland also has some surgeons who are headed that way. Good luck. I know how hard it must be to have this setback, but hang in there. Linda

Have you considered the DS? 3/4 of the stomach is removed. Dr. Elariny in Arlington VA does this surgery along with several other types.

Here in MA, they leave the stomach because it still produces digestive juices that flow into the intestines. It does shrink over time, but it remains active. Dawn
