Hi Everyone! Well, I finally got a date! Less than two weeks from now. I would appreciate any helpful hints that anyone can give me. I am sooo excited. I am suppose to start a new job on Feb. 9th, does this seem possible if the surgery goes alright. It will be laprosopic. I need your input! Thanks.

Mine is on the 28th, so I can't speak from experience, just what I have seen on these message boards. I have seen that you should request to have a pillow placed under your knees during surgery. Apparently back pain is pretty prominent post-op. I have heard that this helps. Wishing you a smooth transition to the losing side.

Hi Lynn- I am 6-days post op, and want to wish you well. Here are some things I found helpful: You will have left-side shoulder pain after surgery, from the anesthesia. The nurses push walking early and often, and that did seem to relieve the pressure. Ask the nurses for "sponge pops" after surgery, which will relieve a sore, dry throat. These were a big help! Finally, I think starting a new job so soon may be pushing it--but that's only my opinion. I feel better every day, and my pain level is dropping. But, I am TIRED, and am still getting 2-3 naps in each day. Good Luck! Sue K.
