Researching Surgeons

Hi friends, I'm new and am in the process of researching surgeons. I'm in Freeport, New York on Long Island and am looking into having the surgery. I have an appointment with Dr. Lester Cooperstone. Does anyone know of him and can give me some info on him? Thanks

Hi Carol. Welcome. Did you try the local messageboards for NY and maybe CT? I'd start there, assuming you'd like to stay close to home for the surgery. Most of the state boards also have a page with local surgeons, what type of surgery they do and their contact info. I find myself going back & forth between my state message board and the board for my surgery month. Different kinds of help in each spot. My surgery was two weeks ago tomorrow and I'm doing great. Hi Carol, When you are researching your surgeon don't forget to research his hospital. Make sure they can handle obese patients and that the staff is knowledgable in our care. Good luck with your search. I'm having surgery on January 27th with Dr Vohra @ South Nassau Hospital. He is not only knowledgeable but he hand picked his staff for post op care. So make sure your guy has you covered not just in him, but all the way around.
