Anything special to get physically ready for surgery?
My Doctor said that it's important for me to not try and loose weight for the next few days, but to concentrate on getting my body as strong as possible for the surgery. I am taking plenty of vitamin C (3,000 mg throughtout the day), a B-complex, drinking about 2 liters of water, as much protein in regular food and a protein drink per day for an extra pop, and trying to work through my carbohydrate urges. The carbohydrate thing has actually been the trickiest part. With less than two weeks to go for me, I have decided to channel my typical surgery "anxiety" into really thinking about what, where, why, and how I'm eating. I've learned so much about myself during this pre-op time. I'm thankful for the opportunity. Hope this helps.
