We are all freaking out scared. I can't sleep at night, all I think about is what I need to buy, things to bring to hospital, and most of all the WLS itself....

I know what you mean! I have a date of Jan. 28th set for my surgery. I have been emailing people who have already had the surgery and bugging them with tons of questions. Everyone has been so nice and given great advice and information. I hope you have a wonderful surgery and a speedy recovery. And also lots of losing in the months to follow!

I know what you mean, I have been having the same problem. And to top that off, my husband and my Mom have decided that I really don't need this surgery, maybe a good diet is better. But I know this is the way, they are supportive to a point. But I know it is their way of being jittery. It doesn't help but we all do things in our own way. I won't ever change my mind though, I just go through the before and after pics, and all is better! My surgery is 1/22/04, just think we will be on our way in a short amount of time. Take a long handled wooden spoon, and lip balm for those days with no water. Good Luck, Catherine

Tracy (((((((((hugs)))))))))) Please try to remain calm. I am 4 days post op from RNY and I am doing GREAT. You just have to remain positive. Buy yourself some protein shakes and lots of water for when you come home from the hospital. Also try to fiind something to keep you busy. I am scrapbooking. I took a robe and house shoes, a magazine and book to the hospital. It seemed I spent most of my time walking and going to the bathroom. I would be happy to answer any of your questions. Kelley

Dont worry about anything that you may leave at home or forgot to buy. Send a friend or family member to get it for you.. I forgot all my makeup and I lived 5 hours from home. Really I did not need any makeup : that whole hospital stay is just a fond memory now.. Your hospital stay and surgery is ALL about you. Just relax and let them take care of you for once.. Good Luck... I am proud of you for taking this step in your life.. I had my surgery 3 years ago today!! I still feel great !

It would be impossible to not be nervous or scared- if you didn't you wouldn't be human. It is a major surgery, there will be pain, probably nausea, but just think of the opportunity we have been given to get our health back!!! I started purchasing things for the hospital about 2 months ago. Sleep? Surely you jest! I think I'm up 3-4 x a night. Thank God for computer games. My surgery is Jan 29

Hi Tracy, I hear exactly what you are saying. My surgery is on Tuesday and I am getting very nervous. I have my liquids for when I get home and most of my supplements. I will get my bag packed tomorrow. Best wishes on your surgery and your journey to the losing side.
