I have been pre-opped and am setting on GO! Anyone have last minute advice on what to take to the hospital, anything that helped them through some of the rough times right after Surgery? I want to thank everyone for the e-mails and continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. See you on the LOOSING side!Wanda

Congrats on being one step closer to the loosing side. Make sure you have very loose clothing to wear home, especially a loose bra. Sports bras are the easiest to get in and out of. The less hooks and stuff.....the better. Congrats again. Wishing you all the best. Diannejasmine

I would pack up some extra loose fitting clothing, some magazines, a book and a portable CD player with some relaxing music for your hospital stay. Have a family member bring it to you as soon as you are in your hospital bed/room post-op. The CD player comes in handy at night, playing it in your ears at a low volume to help you relax, gets your mind off any of the pain or discomfort. I found the music also helped me ease into a sleep. Do not hestitate to ask for pain management if needed during your hospital stay or any anti-nausea medications. (hopefully you won't need them though). Get up and walk as soon as you can post surgery!! Makes you feel much better!!

I would take a loose fitting outfit to wear home. I took my robe and houseshoes. I was much more comfortable wearing my own stuff. I took some magazines and a book. Walk as much as you can becuase it really helps to get the soreness out. Make sure you take your pain meds at least at night so you can sleep. It will be hard to drink but you have to so you don't get dehydrated. GOOD LUCK Kelley

Nice soft slippers that have gripper bottoms. Housecoat so the backend isn't hanging out in all of its radiant glory. Your own pillow-preferrrably 2-one for your head one for tummy/coughing, etc. nightgown for when you feel better and if you are not bleeding from sutures. shampoo/conditioner-hospitals usually do not provide. toothbrush/toothpaste/hairdryer/deodorant/any bath or toilitries you like to have at home so you can freshen up. I have surgery on Jan 29-and this is what prior patients have advised me to do. Good Luck!!!
