Does anyone know thge size there pouch will be after surgery? I am scheduled for the 27 of Jan but have been hearing recently that my Dr. leaves the pouch too big anywehre from 4-8 ounces. Please let me know if you know what the size of your pouch will be after the operation. Any input is truly appreciated.

Hey Marcy, I have my surgery Monday 12th and my pouch will be 2 ozs! I think yours will be twice the size of mine at 4 ozs! Better talk to him before surgery and at least request the 4 oz size. Wanda

Marcy I was told and read the pouch size will be 2oz. which equals the amount of 4 tablespoons. 4 tablespoons will be the amount of each of your meals for the next 2 months after your surgery. Each meal should consist of 2 tablespoons of protein, 1 tablespoon of veggies, and 1 tablespoon of fruit.. ALL PUREED. If you try to eat more than that you will And after the first year you might be up to hold 6/8oz and should hold no more then 8oz the rest of your life.. that is all you should eat at a time. Good luck to you. ~*~SMILES~*~

Hey Marcy, My pouch size will be 2oz. The Dr. said it will in time stretch to 6 or 8oz. Most Doctors that ive heard of, leave the pouch at 2oz at surgery. I wonder why your dr. starts it out bigger? When you find out why, let us know....HUGGS Sandi.....

I will be having an Open RNY. The surgeon said the pouch will hold approximately 1 -2 ozs. at maximum. The size of a small chicken egg. 4-8 sounds way way too big.
