When I posted on 1/19 I really thought that I would get some, support from my 1/2003 Bandsters, and it sadden me to know that none of you cared enough to even reply or to offer any kind of help or advice. But I guess you all feel that since you don't know me own a personal level you didn't have to reply. I just thought that I would share this with you all. ~Princess~S.2003

Topic: RE: GAINING BACK THE WEIGHT ?
Boy, do I know how you feel! I have gained 40 pounds over the last 6 months. I am scared to death that the surgery was all for nothing and I'm going to gain all the weight back. I try, but I can't seem to stop eating, especially sugar (chocolate). And the damn thing is that I was not really a chocoholic before surgery. I have always had a sweet tooth, but I don't remember it being this bad before. I just don't know what to do! If there is anyone reading this that has not had sugar since your surgery - PLEASE don't start! If I hadn't thought it was OK to have sugar (in moderation) and hadn't eaten any, I am convinced I would not be gaining weight. But, I really think I am addicted. I know how bad I feel when I eat sugar -VERY tired! But, I keep doing it anyway! If anyone has any advice, I'd sure be grateful for any help I can get. Please don't put me down - I do enough of that myself. Can someone have the surgery a second time? I am still considered obese and more than 100 pounds overweight. I'd do it again in the blink of an eye! I don't know if my insurance would pay for it though. Liz

I've been so preoccupied I didn't even realize I've reached my 2 yr anniversary. The last time i lost weight was last year. I lost 17lbs and was so proud of myself. But i've been gaining weight back steadily and it's damn scary. I'm so afraid for myself. In November i weighed 513lbs and i have an appointment with my surgeon on Monday and am afraid of what my weight is now. I can't do this on my own. I'm trying to work on it again one day at a time. I quit smoking almost 3 weeks ago now doing pretty good not craving a cigarette. Today i started back at the gym. Just gonna do it one day at a time one problem at a time the best way i know how. I wish there were others i could relate too. i'm told i've lost a lot of weight. And i know i have it's just it isn't the same as seeing someone else go and have the surgery and coming out with the dreams i only have of looking half as good. I still have a ton of weight I'd like to lose like another 350lbs. I've even gone to the point of asking my surgeon to please hospitaize me. I feel like I can only be successful in a controlled environment. Without that i feel so hopeless. Lately i've even been toying with the idea of having the procedure done again. I'd be willing to go through all I went through again just to be normal.

Hello there... Yes, I am still losing. I had my surgery December 23, 2002. I have lost over 250 lbs. I currently weigh 185 lbs. I was heavier than you were when I had the surgery (442 lbs). I just had a tummy tuck a month ago. Everyything went well with the tummy tuck..very painful though...They took off 8 1/2 lbs of tissue. Life is GOOD! I am at about 2-4 lbs a month for weight loss right now. I am 5ft 6 and feel great! I bet you do too! Amy Slack Oak Creek WI BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Things have been very, very, very hard for me.I'm not losing any more. The lowest my weight has been is 220 and it soon will be 2 years since my surgery.Right now I'm weighing 236.I've only had 3 fills,so I know I need some but I can't afford them,I have been trying to diet but it has not helped.I don't have any support.I'm very depressed and I don't know what to do ,I need help.I had my surgery done in Jackson.Voc.Rehab. paid for my surgery.I have contacted several doctors here, so I can get a fill, but they charge anywhere from $400 to $500 and I don't have that.I really need some "help" and "advice" and some "support".

Hi DeAnn, I'm still losing but not as fast as I once was. I'd guess maybe around 2-3 lbs a month because I'm eating pretty much what I like (but alot less of it). I'm 10 lbs from my goal but won't sweat it if I don't get there because people seem to think I weigh alot less than I actually do . It's so funny , one of my husbands friends who doesn't know how I lost the weight told him "your going to have to make her eat !" I haven't had a tummy tuck but I did have breast reduction surgery in September of 2004. The surgery left me pretty much flat chested and for the first time in my life I'm actually thinking about "padding" my bra ! It's so funny because now I can go bra-less and no one knows it but me.
