Topic: 7 mos. out and down 110lbs
my husbands family finally saw me on the 4th of july and sere amazed to say the least. They did no know about the surgery. I am feeling great. People are having a hard time keeping up with me when I am walking which is a first. Next goal is to be in the 170's (high school weight and less than my husband). Next goal after that is 140's and the final goal. Then on to reconstruction. It has been a very interesting process and NO I would not go back if you paid me. People ask if when I get to my goal weight if I can have it reversed and I try to explain that this is a forever thing and a lifestyle change. Good luck to every one.

Topic: 6 months out and 106 lbs gone
It's great. I am 6 months post op and 106 pounds are gone!!! I can't believe it. I have gone from a tight 30/32 to a 22. I have trouble "seeing" the weight loss. I know it's gone though from the clothes, the ability to breathe and sleep better, less arthritic medicine, and way less fluid retention. I had my gall bladder out 3 weeks ago, side affect of rapid weight loss. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about that anymore! Once again, this is great!! Linda

Barbie, I feel exactly the same way. The weight came off so easily at first, and I've lost 125 pounds since January, but it's coming off about 15 pounds a month, and after such a rapid weight loss, that seems a little slow. I have some bad habits because it was so easy, and now it's really hard to break them. I have about 75 more pounds to go. I feel like I am going to screw this up as well. Hang in there, and I'll do the same!

Topic: RE: To exercise or not to exercise...
Hello Andrea, I to exercise everyday. I use the "Walk Away The Pounds" tape and it usually does the trick, however I lose about 2-3 pounds a month, talk about slow weight loss. I'm not complaining, I'm glad to lose what I have. I'm 7 1/2 months post op and I feel great. I have lost 80lbs since my surgery date 1/10/03. I find my self feeling hungry at night before bed, but I try to watch what I eat. I notice when I don't exercise, I lost more weight in a months time, but I'm scared that if I don't exercise I will get flabby. Good luck and congradulations. Sonia Waite

Topic: RE: IS THIS BELOW NORMAL ?
I had my surgery jan 31, 2003 lost total of 80lbs, my hair is coming out also but not to bad, added more protein to my diet to help with hair loss. Due to losing slow I am able to tone up alittle with being a slow loser.

Topic: So close, yet so far away!
Well, I was hoping to see the century club by my six month anniversary, but didn't quite make it...but it's close...I am down 96 pounds as of today. Of course, I guess it was a long shot from the beginning, being that I started out at 274. The nice thing is that I am finally being able to identify with some of those "I look and feel so good" posts. For the first time, I can actually say that I am satisfied with what I see when I look in the mirror and that I am happy with my body...well, for the most part. Congrats to all of us on our six month anniversaries. Happy losing to all.
