Kate Nash started her lifetime battle with obesity at an early age. As a result, Kate struggled with weight and body image issues and developed co-morbidities that exacerbated her weight issues and limited her activity level as well. After years of dieting, with her health spiraling out of control, Kate made the life-changing decision to undergo a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. And change her life, it did!
From her highest weight of 315 pounds, Kate had to walk with a cane to support her chronic back issues and help her fatigue. Since VSG, Kate has lost 113 pounds and is now passionate about running and working out as healthy alternatives to deal with stress and boredom. Kate tossed the cane and completed a two-day running challenge of a 10K race followed by a half marathon!
Kate is an active member of the weight loss surgery community on Instagram and attends the ObesityHelp National Conferences each year to keep herself on track and support others as they move forward on their weight loss journeys. As a veteran high school teacher, Kate spends time not only teaching but also encouraging her students to make healthy life choices.
