Upon graduating from nursing school in 1990, Heidi Daniel began her career at St. Joseph Hospital working as a Registered Nurse on the surgical floor, intensive care unit, and recovery room. She has managed St. Joseph Hospital's surgical weight loss program since 2003.
Heidi graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from California State University, Fullerton. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is an allied health member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the Obesity Action Coalition. Heidi holds a certificate from the ASMBS’ Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN) program indicating achievement of the specialized skills and knowledge required for the delivery of quality patient care for the morbidly obese and bariatric surgery patients.
Heidi is passionate about working with people and has always valued her nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital. She especially enjoys working with people who are struggling with the effects of obesity. She explains, "The patients who come to the St. Joseph Hospital Bariatric Surgery Program are such a motivated group of people who look forward to a healthier life. It is rewarding to see the positive results that occur during the quest to improve their health and lifestyles after weight loss surgery." Heidi feels extremely fortunate to work with highly skilled surgeons and a committed multidisciplinary team at the St. Joseph Hospital Bariatric Surgery Program.
Outside of work, Heidi enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, horseback riding and other outdoor sports activities.
