Rebounding For Fitness

by Tammy J. Colter

I have been wanting to add a little fun to my workout routine so this year I am going to buy a rebounder and start rebounding the calories and pounds away!  Although I enjoy watching a little TV or listening to music when I workout, I am getting a little board with the treadmill during these cold winter months.

For those of you who don't know what rebounding is...it is exercising on a mini trampoline.  Sounds like fun right?  Well guess what?  Rebounding is a very effective form of exercise and has many advantages that you might not know of.  Just to name a few:

1.  Rebounding is good for your circulation.  Including lymphatic and collateral circulation.

2.  Helps to boost your immune system.

3.  Stimulates your metabolism.

4.  Helps to relieve stress and muscle tension and has been known to help get rid of headaches.

5.  Helps to lower your cholesterol levels.

6.  Promotes better sleeping habits.

7.  Rebounding is easier on your joints.

8.  Strengthens your heart.

9.  Helps to circulate more oxygen to your tissues.

10.  Jogging on a rebounder burns more calories than when jogging elsewhere.

These all sound like great reasons to fit rebounding in to my daily workouts!  This is an exercise I can do inside or outside and I like that!  But what kind of rebounder would be best for me?  I am surfing the web and getting feedback from others before I buy one.  Have you tried rebounding?  What are the best rebounders out there?
