Post-op Q & A: Been There, Done That!

August 4, 2013

Terry Row has been an ObesityHelp member since July of 2007 and an ObesityHelp Support Group Leader since April of 2009.  She is 6 years post-op and maintaining a weight of 168. Terry had the gastric bypass, RNY procedure, on August 10, 2007 at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. Followed by a tummy tuck and breast augmentation and lift in December of 2009.

Terry has dedicated a lot of time into paying it forward in the weight loss surgery community.

She believes in making sure that there is a supportive environment for patients, a place where “the goal is to help each other be successful in being less of who we are and more of what we want to be”.  Terry created and co-facilitates a support group that is for anyone who wants to be part of a group that has and shares knowledge and experience about weight loss, before and after weight loss surgery (WLS), and how to keep the weight off.  She originally started an open support group for all people and then later after seeing the need for support for those struggling with staying on track, she started a Back on Track support group session.  These groups are open to any and all that would like an environment that is warm and nonjudgmental where the attendee can discuss and talk about any concerns they are facing.
