OH2019 Friday Sessions & Speakers!
June 5, 2019We are thrilled to announce the OH2019 Friday Sessions & Speakers! Whether you're new to the ObesityHelp National Conferences or a repeat attendee, there will be sessions and activities right up your alley.
We're kicking off Friday morning with a Rise 'n Shine early morning workout to get warmed up for the day. We'll then be having a Mix & Mingle with interactive games and prizes, followed by a Plastic Surgery Q&A Panel! You'll also have the opportunity to stop by the Clothing Exchange and visit with the bariatric-friendly vendors in the Exhibitor Hall before heading into the Friday Sessions. We'll then be wrapping up the evening with a memory-making Costume Party with music and dancing!

Sheri Burke, RHNSheri is a Bariatric Surgery Coordinator as well as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) who specializes in Bariatric Nutrition. She has worked for over a decade facilitating and coordinating for bariatric clients traveling abroad for surgery. Jonathan DichterJonathan is an author, lawyer, teacher, actor, motivational speaker, comedian, half-marathoner, unashamed geek and most of all, father, who currently lives in the Pacific Northwest. In 2015, he made the decision to change his life completely by undergoing the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery. Since his surgery in May of 2016, Jonathan has lost nearly 200 pounds.Jonathan will share his journey story about shedding the excess weight and the baggage that was weighing him down as a result. In this humorous look at real life, Jonathan will discuss fears, anxieties, dating, eating, half marathons, Disney, clothing shopping, kids, gas, and more. Gina Giarratano-GillandLike many bariatric patients, Gina had been on a roller coaster with her weight all of her life. Her dieting started at the age of 12 with Jenny Craig. As a bariatric post-op, Gina lost 150 pounds and gained a love of fitness. Gina has completed 5ks, 10ks, and half-marathons including the final Nike Women’s Half and the Long Beach Marathon. Her love of Pound Fitness and Pilates empowered her to become a certified instructor of both.In Gina's session, she will share her favorite tips and tricks on how to GET motivated and STAY motivated, as well as which types of exercises work well with all levels of fitness. Steven Reyes, EdDDr. Reyes has specialized in the field of bariatric psychology since 2005 and has worked with thousands of people striving to achieve and maintain their health long-term. He is known for his compassionate coaching and therapeutic approach to help others with their psychological and physical well-being. Gary Siegel, CPTGary began his crusade as a young man who as a child himself battled with weight loss issues through high school. He currently speaks and works with pre and post Gastric Bypass recipients, as well as patients who are recovering from strokes. Gary works with numerous bariatric post-op patients, designing the best workouts for them to be successful in their personal journey.On Friday morning, you can join Gary for an early morning low-impact workout session. Angela Taylor, LCSWAngela is a licensed psychotherapist, certified EMDR practitioner and certified yoga instructor. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology. Angela works with men, women, and adolescents who struggle with eating disorders, body image, trauma and blocked creativity. She is experienced in providing pre and post-bariatric surgery support and assessment.How we pay attention to ourselves, our bodies and our weight have a significant impact on our weight loss journey. Adrienne Youdim, MD, FACPDr. Youdim offers specialized services in medical weight loss, medical nutritional therapy, and nutritional and metabolic support of bariatric surgery patients at her practice in Beverly Hills, California. She creates a customized treatment plan for each patient, whether for primary weight loss or to treat obesity-related diseases.Join Dr. Adrienne Youdim as she discusses the difference in mind (head hunger) and body (physical hunger) and how they can appear the same, presenting tips on how to distinguish the difference.
