Mario: For The First Time In My Life-I Enjoy My Photos!
February 27, 2013by OH Member, Mario AKA marioksig
I have always been an outgoing and social person. While my personality never changed, my self-confidence certainly did. I have always been a “big” guy. I have battled obesity my entire life. After college, I of course joined the working world and when that happened the pounds began to stack on what seemed like overnight. There became a point of denial where I realized I was no longer happy with what I saw both in the mirror and in photos. I was ashamed and embarrassed of what I had become. I made a significant life change on 5/22/2012. It was that day that I weighed in at 452 pounds and had my life changing surgery, Vertical Gastric Sleeve. I am just over nine months out and have lost over 200 pounds. My life has taken a complete 180 degree turn. I am training for my first Triathlon and have taken to fitness like never before. I still have some weight to loose, but for the first time in my life I am comfortable with my body and am happy to snap a picture or look in the mirror.
This is me 4 weeks Post-Op!
Here is me over the weekend! Nine of the fastest months EVER. Anything you can dream of is well within reach. It's all about the mental game!
