Goal of the Month: Thank Someone!
November 14, 2012Goal of the Month: Thank Someone!
Thanksgiving celebrations are filled with family traditions, a variety of delicious dishes, and treasured, lasting memories. Some families include the tradition of going around the table and having each person at their holiday festivities share what they are most thankful for. But how often in our every day life do we really take the time to say, "Hey, thank you for making a difference in my life" or just share a simple thank you for the little things that often escape our attention? We all say thank you many times a week or even day...when someone holds a door open for us, when they hand us change back from a purchase, and so on. But how often do we premeditate saying thank you to someone?
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let's make it our goal this month to say thank you to someone who has made a difference in our lives, or in our community! Maybe you want thank a friend for the years of friendship, a family member who has supported your WLS journey, or the man or woman that volunteers at your local homeless shelter. Whoever it is in your life that you are thankful for-letting them know of your gratitude will put a smile on their face and yours too!
Here are a few ways OH members have taken the time to say thank you recently:
I would like to thank everyone on here who has helped me figure out all this stuff. I got 2 weeks and 1 days before i start my liquid diet. Then on Dec. 11th I will be on my new journey in life. I have read so many topics on here a lot and it has been very helpful. I am so excited for next summer. Getting me a new bathing suit and getting into my pool. Not to mention being able to walk and get out more without it hurting ever bone in my body, lol.-brt11565
First, I want to thank Susan "Susans_journey", for suggesting to see Dr Ku in PA, you may have saved my lap-band...Because Suzie (my band) was just about to be put on the chopping block...NanaB
Linda. thank you for the lovely phone call. I'm sending positive healing vibes your way and wishing you a successful surgery on Tuesday. See you on the losers bench. Since your first on Tuesday at 8 am and I'm at 12:30 with the same doctor you better slide over and make room for me on that bench everyone's talking about. Remember, I'm all in black... can't miss me. LoL! See you soon... take care surgery twin.-crstalww
Many thanks to the staff at the Atlanta Airport Hilton and the volunteers that helped make Kim and OH staff's life much easier at the event, Without you, we could not have accomplished such a wonderful event! To our wonderful vendors that provided many wonderful products to our attendees..and to Kim and Dave for giving so much to make sure that everyone had a wonderful time at our event! And last (but not least) to all our OH members... thank you for your continued support and hope to see you all in a future OH Event! Much Love, Rusty! (rustimart)
