mnmommaof2's updated blog:

Hello Folks!

Thought I should update since I haven't blogged since before my surgery.  I was sleeved 11-23-12 by Alberto Aceves in Mexicali.  The entire process from first contact to now has been fantastic and for anyone looking for a surgeon in Mexico... I highly recommend him and his team.

I'm a little more than two months out and have progressed to solid food.  I find that my tastes have changed and processed food just doesn't do it for me anymore.  In fact my entire attitude towards food has changed.  Gone are the days where I stuffed my face and never felt full.  I realize now just how out of control my eating really was and take full responsibility for my weight gain.  Post surgery I'm  amazed at the quantity of food I can eat (or lack there of) before becoming full-- sometimes it's only a few bites and never more than a half cup.  I eat about as much as my three year old!  It really is quite the change.

I started this adventure in size 26 pants and 3x top.  I was worried that my clothes were getting tight and I was already in the biggest size local stores had to offer.  In such a short amount of time I am now in loose 22's and 1x/2x tops.  I can't even tell you how awesome that is.  As my sizes go down I'm finally starting to feel good about myself again.   I no longer walk into a room and compare myself to every other woman (Insecurity at its finest), and instead hold my head up high knowing that I'm no longer ashamed of how I look.  I might even dare to say that I am proud of how far I have come!

So.. all in all, things are looking up!  The sun is shining and I'm soooo excited for the changes ahead.
