April 18, 2023Before And After Medically Supervised Weight Loss With Victoria Down 97 Pounds: My name is Victoria and I have struggled with being able to lose weight since having kids. I have three kids and after having each baby, I just kept on gaining more and more weight. No matter what I would do to help myself lose weight, nothing would work. I would diet like crazy, work out seven days a week, and maybe lose five pounds, all for it to come back a month later. After having my third baby in 2020, I was at the heaviest I had ever been, and I was completely hopeless. I felt so uncomfortable in my own skin. I could not sit in my car comfortably. That was my push to change.
I decided to look up options on medical weight loss and I found Middlesex Health Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss. I truthfully had little faith that this would work for me, but I needed to give it a shot. I met with Dana Cantiello, Nurse Practitioner, and Kittie Spedding, Dietician, and we started the journey to help me get to a healthy place for my body. I started my medical weight loss journey in September 2020 and as of February 2023 I have lost 97 pounds and kept it off for more than two years! I still cannot believe the weight loss I have been able to attain with the help of these ladies. I take a medicine which helps to curb my appetite and stops me from mindless snacking. (I have taken Phentermine and Ozempic over the years.) Kittie, my dietician, came up with a personalized menu for me that focuses on high protein and low carb and that keeps me full and satisfied. All of this was extremely easy to follow with the hectic lifestyle of a full-time working mom of three young kids.

Not only have I lost weight, but I have gained so much more. I have gained my confidence back. I have gained back the energy to keep up with a physically demanding job and the running after three young children. I have a more active relationship with my kids. I no longer feel tired going up and down my exceptionally long, steep driveway. Getting up off the floor when I am done playing with my baby does not feel so strenuous on my knees. I am no longer exhausted at the end of the day. I have energy to spare. I can fit so comfortably into clothes now. I'm not exhausted all the time. My mind and skin are both more clear now.
I have been lucky to lose 97 pounds with the help of the incredible care team at Middlesex Health Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss. They truly gave me hope where I did not feel there could ever be help for me. My journey is not over, but I am happy with where I am today.
