I won't go into how I got to the point of needing weight loss surgery because I'm sure we've all been there. At almost 60 years old, I was approaching retirement, and I didn't want to be a burden on my husband or family and decided it was time.
In 2013, I had researched weight loss surgery, but after I got a referral from my general practitioner, I backed out. My heart and mind weren't ready. In 2014, I knew I had to do something, so I got referred again and followed through.

Best decision I've ever made. I went through all the pre-surgery appointments, liquid diets, etc, and on April 22, 2015, I had RNY at Sacred Heart Weight Loss Clinic, Pensacola, Fl, by the best surgeon in the area, Dr. Jeffrey Lord.
This has been a life-altering decision. I knock on wood every day because I haven't had a single problem from the surgery. I follow my doctor's and nutritionist's recommendations and have reached my goal in less than one year. I have lost 143 pounds and feel better than I have in over 25 years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend weight loss surgery to anyone who is at that point in their life.
