After a career in losing and gaining weight, I failed miserably. I knew how to lose weight, but I couldn't figure out how to keep it off.
When I was in nursing school, during my CPR class, I could not get down on the floor to practice CPR, they had to put the mannequin up on the table for me. I was never as embarrassed as I was right then in my entire life!
I started researching WLS and was concerned what would happen when I got older and someone forgot to give me the vitamins I needed while I was in a nursing home. They would think I was crazy instead of vitamin deficient. When I shared my concern with an elderly patient who told me I needed to have WLS. The patient said, "Honey when you get that old, you won't care because you got to live your life".

Special Milestones
I can wear calf-high boots now for the first time ever.
A light clicked on for me about three years after my surgery about exercise. I realized that exercise was just as effective at calming the soul as food was. I live happier and healthier not fighting the food monster. It's a mind thing. Once you master that, the rest comes naturally.
