One of the highlights of ObesityHelp conferences is the long-running tradition of our Meet and Greet costume parties that allow attendees to unleash their creative and wild side. And this year certainly did not disappoint! So many of you let your imaginations run wild, and we loved all of the amazing costumes. We encountered scary skeletons, little red riding hood and the big bad wolf, a mischievous beetlejuice, and even the Spice Girls showed up in full glam, just to name a few.
In addition to the fantastic costume contest, this year’s Meet and Greet, sponsored by Total Lipedema Care, was where lasting memories were created with Photo Booth antics alongside friends, both old and new. Great music and dancing also took center stage. Take a peek at the photo gallery to see these amazing moments captured in time!

We had a great time and learned a lot at the Bariatric Connect conference and costume party. Dressing up as Richard Slimmins and Sweatin’ Oldies, we had a lot of fun doing a short workout routine and kicking off the dance party! As a female dressing up as Richard, my boyfriend, Randy as a workout girl, and two friends I met at last year’s conference, finishing out our outrageous workout crew. Gloria and I have lost over 500 pounds between the two of us. We definitely wanted to do something showcasing our hard work and newfound self-confidence. 2024 Meet & Greet Recap - Giveaways
During the Meet and Greet, a Grand Prize drawing was held, with the lucky winner, Deadpool, receiving a gift basket worth $625, which included a complimentary consultation with Dr. Schwartz for Lipedema or Plastic Surgery. There was also a drawing for a grand prize from ObesityHelp, Valerie S. was the winner!
To hear and see on my ticket the winning numbers. To get up and receive a gift basket that was two hands wide, three hands high. Filled with lovely gifts. I am beyond Giddy. The basket also had a $100 gift card and a scale that is beyond me. It gives out all the information and is WiFi connected. I Never Win Anything. Then I met in person and was given the gift from the co-host, Yelena. My heart was pumping 100 beats. The photo of me winning is on my phone. I see it daily. The conference is a very safe place. The 2024 Meet & Greet recap would not be complete without us sharing the amazing costume party winners! The Bariatric Connect 2024 costumes were truly unparalleled! The array of well-thought-out and unforgettable costumes left everyone in awe of the creativity on display that night. A special thank you goes to Total Lipedema Care for judging the contest and awarding prizes to the deserving winners. It was thrilling to see $700 in prizes awarded for the incredible costumes. I can’t tell you how much coming to this conference has made me feel. It’s been 5 years since I last attended, and I’m so grateful for being able to join all of you this weekend. For those I newly met, thank you for sharing your stories and part of your journey with me. For those who I’ve met along the way and at prior conferences, I loved seeing and hugging you all again! Oh, the smiles, the laughter, all the learning (and re-learning), and CELEBRATING is all worth this trip and so much more.
