10 Motivational Tips to Get Up & Get Exercising!
March 3, 2017Whether you're warm and comfy in bed in the morning, too tired, too busy, or just plain don't have the motivation to exercise, check out these 10 motivational tips to get up and get exercising. Remember, after exercising - no one usually says they wish they hadn't!
BE DISCIPLINED: DO IT ANYWAY!
Even if you don’t feel like exercising – do it anyway. If you only do what you feel like doing, you won’t be able to lose weight and keep it off.
GEAR UP: NEW WORKOUT CLOTHES!
Put on your workout clothes. The simple act of putting on the right gear can motivate you to exercise. Having the right clothes reinforces your identity as an exerciser so it’s just a part of your life.
DOCUMENT: WRITE IT DOWN!
After every workout, write down how you feel. This really works because it will remind you of how good you feel after exercise.
REMEMBER: WHY YOU STARTED!
It’s about remembering why you started in the first place and asking yourself if you really want to start all over again.
PARTICIPATE: GROUP FITNESS!
Try group fitness – The energy of the group will keep you going in the moments you want to quit.
MOTIVATE: YOUR GOALS!
Surround yourself with motivational quotes or pictures. Have your goal weight written everywhere so you will see it often so it’s a constant reminder to work toward reaching your goal.
COMPETE: EXERCISE CONTESTS!
Compete with someone you know as an exercise contest. Set goals and see who gets there first. Maybe a reward for the winner to make it fun and more motivating. Work out with people who will cheer you up.
LISTEN: AUDIOBOOKS!
Listening to audiobooks when walking or using a cardio machine such as an elliptical can keep you motivated. You will have to work out the next day to see how the story turns out.
WORKOUT: ONLINE SUPPORT!
Log your workout online – Social networking sites such as Facebook and DailyMile offer an extra layer of social support.
BE STRONG!
Think about how much stronger you are getting. Knowing that your body just did something it couldn’t do a few weeks back is amazing.
We hope you take these motivational tips and put them into action!
