05/10/2003 -- I am now one week post-op and I want to report that I have lost 10lbs already! I am still feeling great! Every time I had a question/worry about the surgery, I referred back to this site and my worries were quelled! I have had no pain (other than the post-op bloating/gas & initial fluid retention). I wanted to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes AND Happy Mother's day to all you Moms!

5/04/2002 Well, I'm 2 1/2 days post-op now. My surgery went well. I was operated on at 11:00am Friday and my Dr told me I could go home (if I wanted) on Saturday afternoon--so I did. I feel fine -- the only problem I am having is gas & bloating. It's not painfull, just really uncomfortable. So,anyone with any advice on when I can expect this to 'go away?' Also, I have not had a BM yet and it is over 48 hours. Is this normal? I just keep telling myself that a week down the road I will be feeling much better. I want to thank everyone who wished me well....you've all been swell!

It won't be long for you now. I can not promise that this is an easy thing, But I can tell you. It is worth it. My life has changed so much since my WLS on June 20th, 2001. I am down 130 pounds. I feel 20 years younger and my husband Ed and I can do so many things together now. I no longer sit and watch on the side lines. I am again a part of my family. That is what makes it worth it, the discovery of life again. Good Luck to you. Heal fast the world is waiting on the new and improved you.
