I had gastric bypass RNY in 2001. I lost 150 lbs. In 2007 I had a stricture and had emergency surgery to repair it. The surgery was done by the oncall surgeon who was not a bariatric surgeon. He repaired the stricture and a hernia. I had relief but was soon back to eating normal and gained back eventually around 80 lbs. After years of trying to fix it myself, and several diet pills I sought out the help of a weightloss surgeon to see if I was a candidate for revision surgery. I was! My stoma had enlarged and my stomach was had enlarged and was candy cane shaped. On May 2, I had the DS and to date I've lost 23 lbs. I was hoping for more but I'm thankful for the loss I have and will continue to use this wonderful tool.
