Has anyone not lost their hair?

I was wondering if anyone who had vsg has not had significant hair loss. Also, I am wondering if any of these people suffer reflux. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

I'm about 4 weeks out and have yet to have a hair (knock on wood) fall out, or have reflux. I'm on a PPI though. Seem to be doing really well!! I hope this helps!

I'm almost a year out and i lost a lot of hair, but i had really healthy thick hair pre op so no one else noticed it but i did, before it was super thick and wavy now its cut and thinned out a lot but still doesn't look like someone whose hair is falling out. For me it was always single strangs on my shirt, every day not so much huge clumps but it started about 5 months post op i think, i should have written it all down, oh well, i didn't lol then started stopping maybe a month or tow ago, i don't have reflux, thanks God but know people that do and they take a ppi ? are you ? good luck, it will grow back. I know a gal who had straight hair and it all grew back realy curly. :o) jeani

i can honestly say that i havent lost alot of hair. (knock on wood) it seems the same as before the sleeve. my hair isnt getting thinner or coming out and its been almost 5 months. i also have not suffered reflux either. but the foods that i eat are not rich and heavy to make that happen. hope this helps.

I am losing more hair -- I notice it in my hair brush after I wash my hair. Thus far, nothing that anyone else would notice. But.....it could get worse, I know....so, I'm still holding my breath !!!

I had reflux before surgery, and I have it now. I take a PPI twice a day.

I am ten months out. I didn't lose much, if any, hair, but I have reflux. Sometimes, I take an OTC acid reducer, but I hate taking meds, so only if I can't sleep because of the acid. For what it's worth, I only followed a high-protein, low-carb diet in the first few months.

I went through the hair lose thing..... I think it was months 3-6......I took Biotin (don't even know if it did anything.

The good news is that my hair grew back a bit thicker and far less "Greying" than pro-op.

I'm 7 months out and have lost no hair. I don't have acid reflux since the surgery. I had it real bad before but I also had a hernia and when he fixed that while doing the sleeve it fixed the reflux.

hw 292.5 sw 270 cw166.6 gw 120 hgt 5' includes 22.5 lbs pre-surgery 46.6 lbs to go
