Ohio State University Medical Center Hospital
This surgeon is absolutely the best!!! I talked to him for 2 hours. He never once made me feel as if he had other things to do, even his pager went off and he put it in his pocket and left it. He sat in a laid back position, smiled, eye contact. He even told me I wasn't that overweight! Wow that made me feel good. He said since I have right at 100lbs to loose I will most likely meet my target weight. He is great and he's also the dirctor of Bariatric surgery.
I like Dr. Needleman very much.He was helpful in making me feel comfortable about what he was doing, and I have never changed my mind about him. Office staff has been friendly. The only downside to Dr. Needleman was that he never had enough time to stick around the hospital room. I think he was somewhat of a perfectionist at anything he does, and for that I am graeful. I was in his office two weeks after surgery for my first visit and will see him again at two months.Yes, he has a structured aftercare program, and covered all the risks with me beforehand.I would give Dr. Needleman an A+. His surgical competence is better than his bedside manner.
I have spent the last 28 days researching the surgery, taking to women who have had the surgery and finally decided on Dr. Needleman at OSU. I'm really excited now that I've made my decision. I mailed in the initial packet, and now I want to have the surgery tomorrow. I can't wait until I'm suffering and LOSING WEIGHT! I'll keep you posted on my adventure.
My first impression of Dr. Needleman was wonderful. He makes you feel at ease. I felt he was someone who truly cares about his patients and wants to do the best he can for them. I am anxiousley awaiting my surgery schedueled for October 12th, after which I will have more comments to make on Dr. Needleman I'm sure. But for now I feel totaly comfortable with the surgeon I have been given.
Dr. Needleman is the greatest!!!
I have never met a doctor that shows so much concern for his patients. At my pre-op appointment he was very informative and didn't rush the time with me. Explained everything to the last letter.
At my post-op appointment he was again very pleasant and encouraging. Didn't rush his time with me. Even remembered every detail of my surgery, which impressed me to the fullest. This man does so many operations and to remember one to me is amazing.
I would highly recommend him. He has a wonderful bedside manner and even above that is an excellent surgeon.
I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Needleman. The only negative thing is the wait for my appointments. He is always running behind. I don't mind cause he spends time with each patient and doesn't rush them, which I think is a sign of true concern.
Dr. Needleman is a very caring doctor, he takes time with you to explain/draw illustrations so you will know exactly what will happen to you. He has never made me feel rushed and has taken time to answer any and all of my questions.
He is the head of the bariatric department at OSU and I feel truly blessed to have had him as my doctor.
Dr. Needleman stresses aftercare and works closely with the dieticians to get the optimum results.
7-3-2001 After spinning my wheels with the BTC @ Grove City, OH I am switching over to Dr. Needleman @ OSU. My first meeting is with them on 7-10-2001.
9-10-2001 Dr. Needleman was great when I met with him. He took the time to explain exactly what and how he was going to do the surgery. While at the same time my mother was with me, he answered all of her questions also. She is waiting to see how things go and is considering having it done also. She is in her 50's and is a Type II diabetic. The doctor explained many of his patients no longer had to take their shot after having the surgery and losing weight. This would be a good thing since my grandmother passed away in her early 60's due to complication due to diabetis.
