Georgetown Community Hospital (COE) Hospital
My previous occupation, Laboratory Technology, gave me the unique ability to look at the different services and areas of Georgetown Hospital with a slightly different perspective. I was impressed with how this small hospital could specialize in Bariatrics but maintain a personal touch that is missing in larger hospitals. During my stay, the Bariatrics Unit was very busy and completely full, but I am told that this was an uncommon occurance. I did wish the hospital rooms were somewhat larger. The room size and a lack of available private rooms during my stay were my only frustrations. I am sure that these two issues will be addressed as the Bariatrics Unit at Georgetown continues to serve a special population. I was well taken care of by very knowledgable and professional staff. I felt completely confident that any concern would and could be addressed as needed. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking to have WLS.
the only problem i had was in recovery. The nurses were standing around the nusrse's station discussing Christmas very loudly and i was given very little attenion in the recovery room. Of course, there were monitors, but if I had need something I would have had to break up their visiting!!! The rest of the staff at the hospital was excellent!
