My first impression of Dr. Curry was he seems very nice and very competent.
My impression has not changed really. I still feel that I will be safe in his hands.
The office staff was great. Tracey, the insurance coordinator, really knows her job well. She got me approved in 3 days! Erin is a great help too. She can answer any of your nutritional questions.
I think any future patients should know that the plan he requires you to follow is very complete. It's the best I've ever seen.
He really emphasizes aftercare. He let's you know it's the most important part. It is very structured.
He addressed all the risks of the surgery, at least as far as I know.
Overall, Dr. Curry, his staff and their program is great. In my opinion, the best around.
Well when I was trying to figure out how and who would proform the surgery I was told whoeva I went to that I would only see the receptionist. But when I called Dr. Currys office they set me appointment the following week. I went and that same day i saw the nurse, dietician and the doctor all in 1 day. He was great. He gave me so hope in the first 30 mins than I have in years. for that alone I thank him. But to take it farther when I was in the hospital having the surgery he and his staff came by evryday I was there to see me. Ive neva been soo amazed @ a hospital and doctor and staff. When people ask me about the surgery I make sure I let them know about Dr Curry and his staff cause I truely felt and feel so comfortable around them. Thank you soo much Dr Curry and Staff!!!
I had known about Dr. Curry prior to deciding to seriously pursue my weight loss surgery. He had successfully performed the RNY procedure on 4 of my family members (three laproscopic and one open). I was impressed that Dr. Curry visited them after the surgery and was very involved in their recovery process for a long time after they were released from the hospital. I was even more impressed when he remembered them when I met with him recently at a seminar he gave--it has been more than a year since each of their surgeries! Given his professionalism and true capacity for caring for his patients, I am confident that Dr. Curry is the right choice for me! I just hope my insurance will cooperate!
1st impression was good but I already knew him and chose him as he had done my husband's RNY in Feb.2004.I become more impressed with him as time goes on,esp.when I read how well everyone of his pt's is doing.I liked his office staff immediately,we wasted 8 mos. during my husbands wgt. loss adventures with a Dr. in Dayton that had the nastiest staff I have ever met! I can't think of anything I don't like about Dr.Curry.Future pts.should know he is a deeply kind, honest, caring Christian man who has talents that go well beyond the walls of an OR!!! Great emphasis on postop care, esp. the importance of exercise which is why I believe I don't have alot of "saggy skin issues",3 weeks postop this formerly chubby girl was at the YMCA and it has paid off!Addressed the risks and benefits of the surgery very well and speaks in laymans terms not over someone's head.My mom was not in favor of me having this procedure until she met and talked to Dr.C.There are not enough adjectives to say how highly my husband and I BOTH rate him!!!I will say surgical competence since I am an OR nurse but I had my WLS done by someone with both!!
Although, my meeting with Dr. Curry was brief he seemed pleasant, knowledgeable and down to earth. I look forward to our next meeting when I will be better prepared to question him in depth.
I must add I was referred to Dr. C. by a leading Cincinnati physician and then my own PCP praised his reputation. I had to meet this Doctor, since he wasn't even who my regular PCP's practice normally refers their bariatric patients to. In the end, my PCP was so impressed with Dr. Curry's reputation he had no problem with my decision for weightloss surgery. I will say he has exceptional time management skills, a gracious bedside manner, and definite strategic vision for the weight loss center that will allow it to grow and improve in the future.
If there was one suggestion for improvement I would really love to see some knowledge sharing with some medical students. You may be doing that indirectly but it is not obvious to the clientele because we do not see them.
I felt like he is committed to helping obese patients and was very impressed by the good reviews written about him. I like that he has an office that keeps electronic records and has a patient portal to stay up-to-date. He also rarely does "open" procedures mostly laposcopic. I happened to be in the office at a time when there is a high volume of patients, so things seemed a little rushed. At the same time I had done lots of research and didn't have any questions. In addition, I am the perfect person for this surgery. The office staff is wonderful.
I AM 65 YEARS OLD AND HAVE SEEN A LOT OF DOCTORS IN MY TIME .THEY ARE USUALLY ON A TIME LIMIT ,THEN I MET DR,CURRY,WOW WHAT A NICE MAN .TIME TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ,TELL YOU WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY .
