Dr Pupkova is very freindly and always making sure you know what is going on. The staff a Barix was excellent throughout the entire process. I have had two phone calls from the doctor since my surgery last Friday.rnrnExcellent surgeon.rnrnOnly complaint is that she does not like you taking pain medicine after surgery due to the side effects, which put me off a little since I do not tolerate pain well. However, I had all the pain medicine during my stay that I needed and am okay so far since coming home. More an attitude issue then a real issue.

I had a consultation with Dr.Pupkova on 5/29/07.It is my 2nd attempt at this. Now I wait to see what Horizon BC of NJ will say.I am much more opptimistic now about having it done.I hope approval will be quick.Dr.Pupkova is now @ Barix Clinic in Langhorne,PA>I t seems like a great place.WLS is all they do there so u don't feel like a sideshow walking in there. So far the people I've met have been wonderful.rnrnDr.Pupkova is awesome. She & her staff are top notch.Anyone lucky enough to have her as their dr will be truely blessed. She has given me back myself.

Dr. Pupkova was great!rnrn I attended a seminar in January, 2008 where she was the surgeon speaker. She stated that she has done over 1200 laparscopic bypass surgeries. That's all I needed to hear. I asked how quickly I could get my surgery booked.rnrn Dr. Pupkova could perform this surgery in her sleep!!! But I never felt that I was just a number, in fact, I always feel that I'm someone special. After my surgery in March'08, she visited my room several times during my 2 day stay and has been very generous with her hugs of encouragement on my follow up visits.rnrnDr. Pupkova continues to push me to excel in my weight loss efforts. She insists that I become more physically active. That I become the kind of person who LOVES exercise. I'm still working on that!rnrnDr. Pupkova rates straight A's from me. She is the perfect combination of surgical competence and a warm bedside manner. rnrn

*Very concerned about her patientsrnrn*I still think that she is cares about her patientsrnrn*Very nice and helpfulrnrn*There is nothing that I dislike about herrnrn*That she just doen't operate on you and then forgets about you (that showed with my cousin Sue)rnrn*She emphasizes alot to make sure you understand that this is a change of life and that you will need after care.rnrn*She does have a structure in place for aftercarernrn*She informed me of the ups and downs of the Surgery.rnrn*Could not ask for a better caring Doctor.rnrn*Both, surgical competence and bedside mannerrn

My first impression of Dr. Pupkova is that she knows her stuff. I met her in December at our consultation and I maintained eye contact with her through the whole presentation.rnrnDuring our one on one she was very quiet and asked me certain questions pertaining to my health. As I was leaving she hugged me a few times and told me she would help me to get healthy, but I must do my part and get my required testings completed.rnrnA few days later I was admitted to the local hospital for two blood clots and when I arrived home from the hospital she called me to check on me and advise me she would have to delay my GBS for 3 months.rnrnI was upset for the obvious reason, but I was thankful that she cared more about my health then about getting paid for another surgery.rnrn

My first impression was a very pleasant one. I felt that she really knew her stuff. So far she has lived up to all the research I have done, plus a little more. I felt very comfortable with her and I feel like I am a person to her, not just a paycheck. After the one on one with her and her giving me the approval, we ended the meeting with a hug. She gave me and my mom a hug like we have been life long friends. I feel very safe and content with the decision I made. One thing I was taught that if she asks you to do something...comply with it or she will be very unhappy. I will get back on here following my surgery and post more.

My first and only impression so far was great. I haven't seen her since Feburary (its now Nov.) but my husband and I just thought the best about her. She gave us both all the information we needed. Answered all of our questions thoroughly. She even gave us a hug when we were leaving. I have read so many good things about her and have every confidence in her abilities.
