I thought he was great from the start. I still feel the same way.
Everyone was very good.
There was nothing negetive about Dr. Rumsey.
He is very caring, very understanding of all you are going through.
He is very firm on what needs to be done for your after care.
Yes it is very structured. Yet he will change for your needs.
He covered all aspects of the surgery including the risks.
I would, on a scale of 1 to 10, give him a 20.
Obviously surgical competence has to be best but bedside manner before and after is also key in your confidence.
I was very greatfull that I had Dr.Rumsey. I tend to mistrust people and he made me feel comfortable. Not always an easy thing to do. I felt I was in good hands.
The first inpression of Dr. Rumsey was soothing and I left his office feeling he was the guy for me. The office staff was great, they were kind and very helpful. Everything with Dr. Rumsey and his office staff was great there is nothing that I would want to change about any of them.
Dr. Rumsey on the first day I met him never gave me the impression that the surgery was a cure all and that I would not have to put any effort into the weight lost. He told me from the beginning that I would have to work hard and change the way I veiw food, and I have found that I can't think the way I use to.
Dr. Rumsey is the best doctor that I have ever had and I would recommend him to anyone thinking of having weight loss susrgery.
I want to personally thank him for all he had done for me and how confortable he made me through this journey.
Dr. Rumsey is hands down the most caring doctor I have ever had. I haven't had the smoothest recovery but he constantly reminds me that he will stick with me no matter what. His entire staff are wonderful and caring as well. On a scale of 1 to 10 in surgical competence and bedside manner I would give him a 100!
Dr. Eugene Rumsey of Pacific Bariatric in San Diego performed by RNY. He was always friendly, informative, and professional. He gave me confidence in the surgery and all went well. He was a caring person and even called me at home during the week afer surgery to see how I was doing. His office staff was friendly but extremely busy. I would recommend him to anyone considering weight loss surgery.
Dr. Rumsey was warm and professional. He was easy to talk to and very patient with my questions. He was very attentive and saw me every day while I was in the hospital. Dr. Rumsey is a great coach during my after care and learning about my new life. He is a compassionate and dedicated physician. rnrnThe staff at Pacific Bariatric is excellent. Staff was available by telephone, and very informative. No question is too small or insignificant. rnrnI have complete confidence in the entire Pacific Bariatric crew!

I had a great feeling after meeting with Dr. Rumsey! I had my surgery on 3-6-09 and i was so pleased with how careing and attentive Dr. Rumsey was. I cant say enough good things about him. If i had to choose again i would only pick Dr. Rumsey. He was informative...knowledgeable and caring. My surgery went wonderful and i hardley have any bruising or discomfort. Surgical competence, bedside manner, both were amazing. I am lucky to have found such a great Dr. and bariatrics team!rnMichelle ~
Dr. Rumsey is a great doctor. Once I came in the office he introduced himself to my husband and myself and shoke our hands and made great eye contact. He has a great personality which made me feel at ease while visiting and meeting him for my consult. He was very smart and had an answer for every question. His staff was very helpful everytime I had any questions before my surgery if I needed to call. Dr. Rumsey will take the time to answer any questions you have no matter how much time is needed and he will not let you leave his office until he feels you are well informed. I am one of those people who is a little shy and he picked up on that and fully explained everything and I loved that about him! He makes sure you know the risk of surgery and that you have prepared for surgery. He also explains this is a TOOL for weight loss not a magical wand that will melt all your weight away. Excersice and diet are a must. He visited after surgery and is so pleasant and helpful. Afterhours he will give you his pager # and speak to other doctors (if needed) and follow up with them to check on you! He is great!
After metteing with Dr. Rumsey I felt comfortable with my decision to go forward with the surgery. Dr. Rumsey with always willing to talk and always had something positive to say following the surgery. He visited e every day and the nursing staff at the hospital was always there for your every need. They were awsome and I am glad I went with Dr. Rumsey and Pacific Bariatric. Dr. Rumsey stressed that this was just a tool and that I would have to be diligent about my aftercare.
