Doc Rumsey did my surgery 6-26-01 (Open RNY)....and I think he is the most AMAZING doctor ever! He is personable, approachable, and very likeable. I really feel as if he saved my life, and I would recommend him to anyone!

I FIRST MET DR. rUMSEY AT A SEMINAR IN rIVERSIDE, IT IS ONE OF THE REQUIREMENTS AT PACIFIC BARIATRIC THAT YOU ATTEND ONE BEFORE THEY WILL START THE PROCESS). hE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND SEEMED VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND DID STRESS THAT THIS WASN'T A QUICK FIX BUT A TOOL FOR LOOSING WEIGHT. mY NEXT MEETING WAS AFTER I WAS QUALIFIED BY MY INSURENCE (kAISER) hE GAVE ME A PHYSICAL AND THEN DISCUSSED ALL ABOUT THE SURGERY AND THE PRO'S AND CON'S AND THE POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS THAT COULD ARISE. hE ASKED TO SPEAK TO MY HUSBAND AFTER I TOLD HIM THAT MY HUSBAND REALLY WASN'T HAPPY ABOUT MY HAVING IT. hE EXPLAINED TO HIM ALL THE REASOND WHY I REALLY WAS AT MORE RISK IF I DIDN'T GET THE WEIGHT OFF. MY HUSBAND FELT BETTER AFTER THAT AND I AM VERY GRATEFUL BECAUSE HE WAS MAKING THINGS HARDER ON ME BEFORE. i HAVE FULL CONFIDENCE IN DR. RUMSEY . HE STRESSES AFTERCARE VERY MUCH. tHE OFFICE STAFF HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL AND i APPRECIATE THEM VERY MUCH. i THINK THE DRS. AT PACIFIC BARIATRIC ARE ALL VERY COMPETENT, THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD TRACK RECORD FOR SUCESS.

Dr. Rumsey introduced himself with a firm handshake and was very warm and down to earth. I can't think of one negative thing to say about the man. He has many years of experience, outstanding credentials and is an all around nice guy. What more could you want from a surgeon. He is a special man who has a lot of compassion for people. He explained everything to me. I understand exactly what is going to happen, what the risks are and what is expected of me post-op.

I met with my surgeon on June 1st. He was a nice man, answered my questions. I am confident in his abilities to take me to the "other side"!

DR. RUMSEY WAS PROFESSIONAL AND WARM AT THE SAME TIME. HE WAS SERIOUS WHEN TALKING ABOUT THE SURGERY AND HAD A GREAT SENCE OF HUMOR. HE WENT OVER SOME OF THE COMPLCATIONS THAT COULD HAPPEN AND THE PERCENTAGES THAT THEY HAVE HAPPENED AT PACIFIC BARIATRIC, THEY WERE VERY LOW.

My first impression of Dr. Rumsey was just that. I was very impressed, not only with his knowledge, but also with his warmth, understanding and genuine concern and caring.

I have the very same impression of Dr. Rumsey today.

His office staff was very friendly, extremely helpful and always willing to listen.

Aftercare is stressed over and again not only by Dr. Rumsey but the entire Pacific Bariatrics staff.

Yes, they have an excellent and very structured aftercare program including support group meetings.

Dr. Rumsey was very straightforward about surgery, it's risks and rewards.

Overall I give Dr. Rumsey and Pacific Bariatrics a 10+! I know this sounds too good to be true, but I have nothing negative to say about PB.

Both bedside manner and surgical competence are excellent

Dr. Rumsey works out of Pacific Bariatric in San Diego California. He is a wonderful man and was very open to answer all the questions I had about the surgery. I recommend him very highly.

My surgeon was from PBSMG, Dr. Rumsey. He is kind and my surgery went without any complications. My pain was minimal, and my scar is healing really nicely. He did a terrific job. Surgery was 2pm Thu, and I was able to go home at 1pm Sat. I researched this medical group, and all the surgeons are excellent, and care about what they are doing. Really terrific, didn't have any negative experience, so just reporting the facts.

I would rate my doctor a 10, being way up there! And his group a high 8. They explained the procedure, they went over the risks, the staff is freindly and empathetic to our needs, they want to help, and they have excellent after surgery support groups and programs. Plus a nutrition guide book. They give you all the tools the rest depends on YOU, and you can count on yourself, right?

Dr. Rumsey is one of the most compationate people I have ever met. He has stuck with me with a post op system that his surgical group stresses. They insist that you follow their protocol to the letter which includes 1 month, three month, six month and one year checkups by him or one of the surgeons in his group.
Their after care program is tops particularly when I hear of other surgeon's programs.
They provided, both verbally and documented, a very complete program about risk management. They even openly tell about patients that they have lost. Only 4 in over 3 thousand. They insist on a evaluation by an internist, psyhiatrist and one of their surgeons before being approved for surgery.
I would be glad to tell anyone contemplating this surgery about my experiences.
Their entire staff is geared toward helping all of their patients from the thinking stage all the way through the insurance process, surgery and post op support.
