Dr. Li was wonderful. She made you feel right at home from the first visit. She even welcomed you with a big hug. Impressive. My impression has not changed, she continues to be warm and caring. The office staff left a little to be desired, except for her office manager, who diligently took care of the authorizations. Dr. Li emphasizes strictly following the aftercare guidelines for optimal results and provides an on-site nutritionist that works with each patient individually as well as in a group setting. Good golly, risks were emphasized an put in writing (which amounted to 20+ pages). She was excellent and I highly recommend her. In my opinion, surgical competence, naturally is important for the overall health or the patient, but if there is no bedside manner you will not feel confident with that surgeons abilities. At one point in time, back in 2004, I had seen another highly recommended and qualified surgeon, but because of his bedside manner, I chose not to use him as my surgeon. rnrnIn addition, the hospital used (Sinai) was wonderful. I had a private room, and very attentive staff. In fact, it must have been my lucky day, but I actually had a \"suite\". A whole separate room with a couch, recliner, table and chairs, tv, vcr, dvd, sink, refrigerator and microwave. My family was impressed. I can honestly say, I had no negative experiences.

My experience with Dr. Li hs been terrific! My first meeting was with nancy Lum, the dietician and the financial coordinators for insurance. Right away I was comfortable. They were all well trained and knowledgeable in their field. They made me feel secure and gave me the assurance i needed to move forward in this surgery. When I finally met Dr. Li, she made me ffel even more comfortable. She was very thorough in explaining all of the risks of surgery as well as the pre-surgery and post-surgery requirements. The financial coordinator helped me with all of the insurance requirements. I have followed all of the instructions Dr. Li gave and haven't had any problems or complications. If I do have questions or concerns, I can ask Dr. Li during my visits @ 1wk, 1mnth, 3 mnth or I can email her at anytime. I also have access to the nutririonist anytime by visit, email, or phone for the next year. That is an amazing help to me. In addition, the team sets up support group meetings monthly (or more) so I get a chance to talk with other pre and post surgery candidates. I can't say enough about the thoroughness of Dr. Li and the bariatric staff at Sinai Hospital. The one concern I have is the timliness of getting back with a surgery date. I had to call to get the date after waiting weeks after all paperwork was in. Sometimes my appointments take longer than expected because of back-ups. All in all it is a small inconvenience for the quality of care I received.

My first impression of Dr Li was not only was she a surgeon, but a real geniune person, caring and funny. Ever visit she's always the same, hugs and smiles. The office staff are very friendly also. Their's nothing I would change about Dr. Li. I would recommend her any time. She took the time to greet my family and answer all their concerns. My family loves her personality also. Aftercare is very important with the gastric bypass, she incourage everyone to join the support groups.rnThe surgery risk were explained thouroughly and she elimated most of my fears. Overall Dr Li is 10++++(four stars). Her surgical competence and bedside manners meant the world to me, I put my life in her hands and I knew I would be ok.

From my first visit, Dr. Li made me feel comfortable and unashame. Her warm but honest communication gave me hope. Hope that I would be successful in the weight lost battle. Initially, she always give me a hug during my office visits. rnrnDr. Li and her staff took extra care to educate me prior, during, and post surgery. During my pre-surgery appointment, Dr. Li carefully and thoroughly reviewed risk of surgery complications, and explained the events of the day of surgery in great detail.rnrnThe day of surgery, I was nervous and internally questioned my decision to have surgery to counteract health conditions. Although I did not express my concerns, Dr. Li sensed my apprehension, and provided words of comfort and hugged me. At that moment, I was sure I made the right choice to have the surgery, and most importantly the right choice in the doctor to perform the surgery.

I had surgery in July of 2007. From my first contact with the office I knew I had chosen the right practice. I first encountered Dr. Li at the information seminar. She was personable, easy to talk to, and very clear in her responses to questions. rnrnAt my first consultation I was comfortable with her. She completed the exam and gave me a complete packet of referral information to begin pre-op testing. All of the referrals had suggested doctors; I used one of her referrals for all of the testing and was extremely pleased with all of them. Each one was an excellent extension of Dr. Li’s practice.rnrnDr. Li has been very helpful and informative; I would rate her bedside manner and overall care as excellent.rn

My first impression was that Dr. Li was as clinical as she was petite. My impression changed because she hugged me every time I saw her. She made me feel as though I was important to her. She was firm in making sure I was doing my pre-op requirements. She took time to explain things to me. I can't think of anything I don't like about Dr. Li. Future patients should know that Dr. Li is warm and is dedicated to helping her patients get well and live a healthy life. Dr. Li continuously stressed aftercare. There is a structured aftercare, concurrent meetings with the nutritionist, online access to the nutritionist through email. I was required to read a booklet outlining the risks of surgery. I would rate Dr. Li as an excellent Doctor. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are important to me. Thanks Dr. Li for giving me a chance at a healthier life.

Dr. Li is absolutely wonderful. When I first met with her, she was very concerned about my health and whether or not I had considered all my options before choosing to have the Lap-Band. I was surprised at how friendly she was. I'm from the south and had only been in the DC area for less than 6 months. I found that most of the people in the DC area were extremely rude. But Dr. Li and her staff especially the nutritionist, Nancy, are totally opposite. Dr. Li sat down with me and totally explained what I should expect before and after the surgery. She went step by step through the entire process. I would definitely recommend Dr. Li to anyone thinking about having weight loss surgery.

I was introduced to Dr. Christina Li during an introduction seminar at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She briefly talked about the different types of surgeries available. From the very beginning, Dr. Li always presented herself as knowledgeable and dedicated to helping obesity patients. The difference between my initial contact with Dr. Li and now is that I know that she is dedicated to me as a patient. The office staff is always polite and gives me prompt attention. They were patient with me during the application process and always helped. New patients should know that Dr. Li and her staff will walk you through the process and make sure that your experience with the surgery is a good one. The bariatric program at Sinai is very structured from the initial application to the aftercare that you receive. You will become very knowledgeable about the risk/complications and all of the positive outcomes before you are scheduled for surgery. Overall, Dr. Li will make your experience a good one and will be there to see you transition into the \"new\" you!
